Several Texas National Guard convoys part of "Task Force IKE" left San Antonio this afternoon heading to Houston and Galveston areas, as well as other regions affected by the hurricane. IKE's 100plus winds battered the Texas coast overnight, and continued it's destructive path throughout last night and today.
"Task Force IKE" made of over 500 military special vehicles, as well as C-130 planes and search and rescue helicopters are in route and some already in place to help IKE's victims and local authorities, particularly in the Galveston area first, and also Houston. A great part of the island of Galveston is reported under water. This, while millions are still without power, and authorities fear it could be weeks before power is restored.
Patricio Espinoza was at Port San Antonio (former Kelly AFB), and captured this report and images as Task Force IKE headed out to Houston.
